Food distribution with collaboration of Om ELFugra For development (OFD)
Darfuris women are a productive and a leading figure in the community. They are heading house hold and the whole families depend on her products. In the last month, the Janjaweed has attacked the Krinding IDPS camp again.
As a result the camp were burned, people killed, and their properties (animals, food, furniture, and farms) were looted and damaged. The populations, in the camp, were forced to quit their homes and become internal displaced. The new situation causes a crucial negative impact on the economic and health situation of the civilians and in particular the health of children, Therefore Om ELFugra organization as a sole women organization has made a survey in IDPs camp to identify the needs of women and children. Through this survey, it became clear that there is a great deficit of food among families with children, so the organization deemed it necessary to fill this gap and shortage.
The overall objective of the project:
To improve the nutrition and energy needs of children and infant who are
affected by hanger and malnutrition.
The beneficiaries:
150 families with children living in IDPs camp in El Genena west Darfur.
Expected Project outcome:
150 families with children living In IDP camp their health status to be improved.
Food to secured for 150 families.
Project activates:
Survey has been carried out and the target group is identified
Volunteers from Om ELFugra organization will purchase the food and
distributed to the families in the camps.
